Q. What made you decide to try CrossFit?
A. The groupon. I needed something to supplement my running.
Q. What is your favorite CrossFit/training moment to date?
A. There are so many. Just a couple are doing Toes to Bar, unassisted pull-ups, jumping on a 35 inch box (see below).
Q. What is your CrossFit/training goal?
A. To become certified.
Q. What is your proudest CrossFit/training moment?
A. Every time a coach says that looks good or that is the best I have seen you do that movement.
Q. What was the toughest hurdle when you got started?
A. Not getting discouraged. Realizing that it is not a competition.
Q. What is the toughest hurdle for you right now?
A. Still not getting discouraged. Especially when it comes to cleans and snatches.
Q. What keeps you going in a workout when you sometimes want to quit?
A. 1) The coaches and other members you can do it. 2) knowing if I finish I really accomplished something.
Q. What is your favorite part of Arenal Fitness?
A. 1) That coaches are always accessible. 2)That most of the members will help you get through a WOD or a movement.
Q. Any advice for new members?
A. Don’t get discouraged. Take advantage of the knowledge and expertise of the coaches.
Q. How has your training program at Arenal Fitness changed your life?
A. It has turned my life around 180 degrees. I was overweight. While I was running on a regular basis I was not improving. I went from over a 12min mile to under a 10 min mile. I lost over 30#.
