Q. What made you decide to try CrossFit?
A. I ran into former co workers Donna and Lauren and they told me all about CrossFit Arenal and asked me to try it out.
Q. What is your favorite CrossFit/training moment to date?
A. Actually it’s hard for me to just name one. Whenever I’m able to do something that I wasn’t able to do before (like Double unders or kipping pull-ups), or finishing a very hard WOD or participating in competitions and being supported by my follow Crossfitters etc. those are my favorite moments.
Q. What is your CrossFit/training goal?
A. My CrossFit goal is to become better at the things (exercises, movements etc.) that I’m already doing and to master new skills. To push myself to be who I never thought I could be.
Q. What is your proudest CrossFit/training moment?
A. Again hard to narrow it down. I think participating in the 5ton 5K competition, doing it RX and finishing it, because there were MANY times during that competition where I wanted to quit but I didn’t. Another proud moment was when I was able to deadlift 315lbs.
Q. What was the toughest hurdle when you got started?
A.The toughest hurdle was to stick with it. Plenty of times I wanted to give up on myself because I never thought I could do it or get better at it.
Q. What is the toughest hurdle for you right now?
A.Toughest hurdle right now is to find the time to go to the box and still be able to spend time with my family.
Q.What keeps you going in a workout when you sometimes want to quit?
A.My fellow CrossFitters and the coaches!!!!!!!
Q. What is your favorite thing to do outside of training at Arenal Fitness?
A.Spending time outside and being active with my kids and husband.
Q.What is your favorite part of Arenal Fitness?
A.The camaraderie between the members, coaches and owners. I consider Arenal my family and I have gained many friends through Arenal.
Q. Any advice for new members?
A.Do not be intimidated by other members that are stronger, faster etc. No shame in scaling the WOD! Do not compare yourself to others. All that matters is that you are there and you are trying!
Q. How has your training program at Arenal Fitness changed your life?
A. I feel better about myself, I’m more confident in what I can accomplish and I’m more positive about myself and my life!
