Ladies, are you leaking during your workouts, particularly when performing movements such as double unders or box jumps? How about when you cough or sneeze?
Although urinary leakage is common with exercise it is not normal (even after having a baby) and can be treated conservatively. Educating yourself is the first step towards stopping your leakage or preventing your symptoms from worsening. Your pelvic floor is part of your core and must be functioning properly in order for you to efficiently and effectively move throughout your workout.
On Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 10am, Katie Tredo, DPT will be here to discuss ways you can improve the coordination and strength of your pelvic floor muscles to prevent leaking during workouts. Katie is a pelvic physical therapist, at ITR Physical Therapy of Towson, who works with men and women with pelvic floor dysfunctions and with women during pregnancy/postpartum.
If you or someone you know suffers from urinary leakage, don’t miss this ever so important lecture at Arenal Fitness…..the floor you save could be your own.]]>
